In the development of China's photovoltaic industry application market, distributed photovoltaics have developed rapidly due to their advantages such as no restriction by construction indicators, flexible and rapid development, small and scattered individual scales, and proximity to the power consumption side. According to data from the National Energy Administration, the newly installed capacity of distributed photovoltaics exceeded that of centralized power stations for the first time in 2021, reaching 29.3 GW, while in the first half of 2024, the installed capacity of distributed photovoltaics had reached 309.51 GW.

The explosive growth of these distributed low-voltage photovoltaic power plants has brought many problems, among which "grid-connection and consumption" has become a major issue restricting the healthy development of the industry. On the one hand, there are serious supply and demand contradictions between the photovoltaic installed capacity and the capacity of the regional distribution network, as well as between the peak power generation period and the peak power load period, which put forward increasingly higher requirements for the operation safety of the distribution network. On the other hand, in the face of more and more photovoltaic stations, management departments need to spend more time, energy and costs on maintenance and management to ensure the safe and stable operation of these photovoltaic stations.

In this regard, to realize remote monitoring and centralized management of these distributed devices, so as to improve work efficiency and management level, Wutong Bolian provides a solution based on industrial intelligent gateways to help realize data acquisition, grid-connection and dispatching of low-voltage photovoltaic power plants. The system architecture is as follows:

1. Equipment Layer: Photovoltaic power plants usually include inverters, combiner boxes, smart meters, sensors and other equipment, which communicate based on protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, DL/T645, and IEC61850.

2. Gateway Layer: Industrial intelligent gateways have multiple serial ports and network ports, which can access various equipment of photovoltaic power plants. Through the protocol parsing engine, multi-source data is converted into the IEC104 standard format and connected to the State Grid management platform.

3. Platform Layer: It realizes functions such as telemetry (generating power, voltage, current), remote signaling (switch status, fault alarm), and remote control (inverter start/stop, reactive power compensation adjustment).
Realized Functions

Convert protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, DL/T645, and IEC61850 into IEC104, Modbus, MQTT and other protocols, and connect them to the enterprise management platform and the State Grid management platform.

Through the data large screen on mobile phones and computers, key information such as the power generation power, power generation capacity, and equipment operating parameters of the power station is displayed in the form of visual charts and dynamic curves.

Establish equipment fault alarm rules, which can quickly and accurately alarm the type and location of equipment faults, and support notification methods such as WeChat, SMS, and email.

Remotely control the equipment of the photovoltaic power station, such as remotely adjusting the working parameters of the inverter, starting and stopping the switches of combiner boxes and distribution boxes, etc.

It can understand the power generation trend, equipment performance changes, safety risks, etc. of small roof photovoltaic stations, and provide data support for the optimized operation of the power stations.
